In March, the Flax Administration Building on Virgin Gorda reached practical completion and was handed over to the Deputy Governor’s Office, marking completion of the second of three VG Admin Buildings to be completed under the Caribbean Development Bank’s Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Loan. North Sound Admin Building (renamed the John E. George Sr. MBE Administration Building) was completed in December 2020 and an official handover and rededication ceremony was held in February 2021.
Also in March, a contract for repair works to the Fencing, Gates and Drains for the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force Marine Base was signed, and Bidder’s Conferences were held for the Fish Bay Road Rehabilitation as well as the Long Trench Slope Stabilisation and Road Rehabilitation projects. Following these conferences, bids will be submitted and assessed for these projects and contracts signed based on recommendation, allowing for works to begin.
