Elmore Stoutt High School – Immediate Improvements

Background

The 2017 hurricanes destroyed the main high school on Tortola. Leaving 1,600 children to have to continue their education for the last two years in tents and cramped conditions, attending school for only half the day on a shift system.

The RDA is working with the Ministry of Education to address this dire situation, in two phases:

Step One: Immediate improvements to improve the learning conditions and to end the shift system by September 2019.

Step Two: Long-term development for the rebuild and modernization of the school to be stronger, smarter, greener and better.
