Applications are invited for the position of Project Associate with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and will be assigned to the team that will support the implementation of the Caribbean Development Bank loan for one year.
Suitably qualified nationals of the British Virgin Islands and Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) member countries who hold the CARICOM Skills Certificate are eligible to apply.
Applicants should have a strong financial and project administration background and should be quickly and effectively facilitate and support project implementation. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing project implementation support in line with objectives and outcomes of the recovery programme’s specific projects.
Duties will include setting up and maintaining project files, collecting project related data, updating work plans and budgets in the UNDP system, compiling and distributing project reports, participating in the development and implementation of activities related to recovery, facilitating the activities of consultants and assisting in financial management tasks in accordance with UNDP procedures.
Applicants should have completed secondary education, preferably with specialised certification in accounting, finance or related field and have a minimum of six years of progressively responsible experience in programme administration. An Associate degree or equivalent in Business or Public Administration, Management, Economics, Political Sciences and Social Sciences or a public policy related field would be an asset but is not a requirement. Certification in project management is desirable and applicants must have legal status to work in the BVI.
