The series of public consultations for residents of the various districts on the recovery and development of the British Virgin Islands will begin on Wednesday, January 24 with the first meeting in the Fourth District at the Althea Scatliffe Primary School from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

The second meeting will take place on Virgin Gorda for the people of the Ninth District on Thursday, January 25 at the Catholic Community Centre in the Valley from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

On Monday, January 29, the meeting will be held at the Willard Wheatley Primay School in District 8 and on Tuesday, January 30 at the Valerie O. Thomas Community Centre in Sea Cow’s Bay fo residents of District 3. Both meetings begin at 5:00 p.m.

On Wednesday, January 31 Jost Van Dyke reisdents will have an opportunity to share their feedback on the recovery and development document. That meeting will be held at Foxy’s Tamarind Bar from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.

The series of public consultations continues in Anegada on Thursday, February 1. That meeting will be held at the Anegada Community Library from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Persons from other districts are asked to listen out for details on the public consultation meetings scheduled for their areas.

According to the Chairman of the Disaster Recovery Coordinating Committee (DRCC), Mr. Brodrick Penn, “The district meetings will give people an opportunity to discuss and share ideas and recommendations in shaping the new British Virgin Islands stronger, smarter, greener and better.”

“All people of this Territory are invited to come out and don’t miss this opportunity to share your views on recovery and development in the British Virgin Islands. We want to hear from you! Your feedback matters,” he said.

People are encouraged to get a copy of the document, which is available on www.bvi.gov.vg and www.bvirecovery.vg. Additionally, persons can get a copy from their District Representatives or from various public places.
