Removal of All Derelict Boats

Removal of All Derelict Boats

The removal of derelict boats and marine debris from underwater will greatly improve the coastal view, safety and access for the yacht-based tourists. These are complex and highly technical projects with serious potential environmental impacts. Therefore, additional scoping is required before these projects can proceed to procurement.

The removal of derelict boats poses critical environmental risks, as there is the air, sea and land-borne risks associated with processing fibre glass, fuel, oil and engine lubricants from boats that are scrapped under this project. This risk is being mitigated during the planning process by minimizing the number of locations exposed to this risk.
