The Elmore Stoutt High School (ESHS) can continue to provide its renowned music programme following a generous donation by community minded organisations.<\/p>\n
The Recovery and Development Agency presented a signed contract to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth Affairs, Fisheries and Agriculture for the temporary music classrooms for the Elmore Stoutt High School in the amount of $221,801.00.<\/p>\n
Chief Executive Officer of the RDA Mr. Paul Bayly presented the contract to the Minister for Education, Culture, Youth Affairs, Fisheries and Agriculture Honourable Natalio Wheatley on June 19.\u00a0 Present were representatives from Unite BVI and BVI alliance, the programme donors whose contributions to education have made this possible.<\/p>\n
Honourable Wheatley said, \u201cI will like to express my supreme appreciation to all of you for this generous donation to the children of the Elmore Stoutt High School school.\u00a0 I know it will make a tremendous difference to them.\u201d<\/p>\n
Speaking on behalf of the donors, Partnerships Manager of Unite BVI Ms. Lauren Keil said, “It is a privilege to be in a position to help the students of Elmore Stoutt High School, who are most deserving”.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Minister Wheatley invited the donors to the next band and choir performance, to see some of the results of their generous donation.<\/p>\n
The temporary music classrooms will be installed on the concrete slab recently cleared by Autland Heavy Equipment Co. Ltd. and is part of the overall vision to improve the learning conditions of students and end the shift system at ESHS.<\/p>\n
The RDA was established in April 2018, to collaborate with the Government of the Virgin Islands, private sector, the public and civil society to best address the urgent needs of the territory as a result of the natural disasters that occurred in 2017.<\/p>\n
This will be done by supporting the rebuilding of a stronger, smarter, greener and better Virgin Islands.<\/p>\n
