The Virgin Islands Recovery and Development Agency (RDA) is prioritising its commitment as environmental stewards and is happy to welcome Mr. Clive Petrovic as its Environmental Specialist effective July 23 for a period of one year in the first instance.<\/p>\n
Mr. Petrovic, who is the former Head of Marine Studies at the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College will serve as a mentor and is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the Project Environmental Management Plan (EMP) and the day-to-day activities related to the environmental aspects of all RDA programmes and projects.<\/p>\n
Mr. Petrovic will be responsible for monitoring compliance with RDA environmental standards in project planning and delivery. He will work closely with all relevant RDA team members and cooperate fully with key stakeholders, primarily Government officials involved in the development and implementation of RDA executed programmes and projects.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 He brings almost 40 years\u2019 experience to the post and has \u00a0conducted impact assessments and environmental impact reports for several projects in the Virgin Islands\u2019 both in the public and private sector.<\/p>\n
Mr. Petrovic served in the posts of Lecturer and Principal Lecturer at the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College and as Adjunct Professor of Biology at the Florida International University.\u00a0 He is an entrepreneur and has worked on the US mainland, in Ecuador and the Bahamas.<\/p>\n
He attained both a Bachelor and a Master\u2019s degree in Zoology from the Ohio State University and is a recipient of the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service Graduate Fellowship.<\/p>\n
The Recovery and Development Agency was established in April 2018 to collaborate with the Government of the Virgin Islands, private sector, the public and civil society to best address the urgent needs of the territory as a result of the natural disasters that occurred in 2017.<\/p>\n
