Beginning, Monday 22 February, the Great Mountain Road will be open to accommodate one lane traffic as critical road rehabilitation works continue.<\/p>\n
The partial opening will facilitate an ease in access to upper Great Mountain and the Road Town areas.\u00a0 Motorists are reminded that this is still an active construction site and works will continue for the next few weeks until the project is completed.<\/p>\n
Delays are expected as the traffic will be slow moving.\u00a0 Temporary road closures will also be scheduled throughout the coming weeks to facilitate essential concrete works.\u00a0 Motorists are asked to traverse this area with extreme caution and pay attention to traffic signs and directions from the traffic wardens.\u00a0 The use of alternate routes is strongly encouraged.\u00a0 Heavy Equipment Operators including truck drivers are especially asked not to traverse this area until a two-lane carriageway is available as the current access is narrow.<\/p>\n
