Progress continues on the construction of the Eslyn Henley Richiez Learning Centre, a special needs school designed to provide a safe and supportive learning environment for differently abled students. Today, a site visit was attended by officials from the Recovery and Development Agency (RDA), the project designer, the contractor, and subcontractors, to review the project’s progress and discuss work to be completed in the next few weeks.
Key updates from the site include:
- Windows: The installation of the windows is in progress and is expected to be completed next month.
- Interior Walls: The installation of the sheetrock partitioning is in progress and moving full steam ahead.
- External Works: Significant progress is being made on the external grading works, drainage systems and sewer lines with completion targeted for March 2025.
- Steel Frame Building: The steel frame structure is currently en route to the Virgin Islands and is expected to be delivered on site in early February. Installation of the steel frame is scheduled for completion by March 2025.
We appreciate the patience and support of the community as we work to deliver this important project that will enhance special needs education in the Virgin Islands.
