The RDA is very open to provide information for the work they are asking for. Everything is available to you. Its left to you, to have it within you, to do it for yourself. I would encourage any contractor out there to attend a bidder’s conference, make notes and ask questions. RDA is there for everyone.
The Procurement Workshops help us stay at the cutting edge on what is coming out, what opportunities there are, what you need to do with your bids, and it gives you a good networking opportunity. Everything happens here at the RDA Workshop.
Communication is the precursor of healthy relationships that define a Territory’s success. The Recovery and Development Agency is a shining example of this. They have been the facilitators in many ways of our restorative efforts and I want to thank them on behalf of the Community, the Government and myself personally. The team exemplifies quality workmanship, and ingenuity.
I want to thank the RDA for Pushing Hope through Projects. For providing a chance for Virgin Islanders to not just lead in construction and development, but for its people to be gainfully employed, engaged and to put a little something in their pockets.
I’m actually taking a project management class this semester. So far everything we covered in class I learnt during my time at the RDA. I just wanted to let you know I’m very grateful for the experience and knowledge I was able to acquire while working with you guys.
The Virgin Islands Recovery and Development Agency (RDA), a statutory body under the Premier’s Office, was established in 2018 by the Government of the Virgin Islands to respond to the unique challenges faced by the Territory following the extreme weather events of 2017.
We work hand in hand with Ministries to deliver projects under the Recovery to Development Plan (RDP) – the Government’s ambitious plan for recovery and development that has been approved by the House of Assembly.
The devastating hurricanes of 2017 caused immense economic loss and damage ($3.6bn) to the Virgin Islands. This represents more than 3 years of economic activity (GDP) or almost ten times the annual government revenue. This is an extraordinary generational challenge that the Virgin Islands face.
The Government established the RDA as a specialist agency with the capability that is solely focused to deal with this immense challenge. The RDA has been established to work with the ministries to build back the Territory’s infrastructure and to build up the capacity of our people.
