Fish Bay Asphaltic Works 90% Completed. Speed Bumps to be Installed
The Fish Bay Road has reopened, and asphaltic works now stand at 90% completed.
Works will resume on Monday, 17 October and three new speed bumps will be installed as part of this road project. Traffic disruption is expected, and motorists are encouraged to use the ridge road to ease traffic congestion in the area.
The Asphaltic Works contract is being executed by the Recovery and Development Agency through local contractor Tortola Paving Ltd as part of the Government of the Virgin Islands Recovery to Development Plan. Financing is provided by the Caribbean Development Bank, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Loan.
Asphaltic works commenced on Saturday, 16 October with preparatory works which comprised of the proper cleaning of the new road pavement, tacking of road edges and asphalting the road gaps. Works continued on Sunday, 16 October with the laying of the asphaltic concrete which is 90% completed. The final works are scheduled for execution and completion by noon on Monday, 17 October.
