The RDA hosted a Site Visit and Bidders’ Conference for the Engineering Design and Construction Management of the Water Mains and Civil Works for the Farmers’ Reservoir Project on January 23. This reservoir will play a critical role in advancing the Government’s strategy to support local farmers by providing a reliable and sustainable water source.
Representatives from three firms attended the event, which included visits to two project sites. These visits, paired with interactive sessions, allowed participants to gain a better understanding of the project’s scope while addressing several questions about the design consultancy. We were also supported by representatives from the Water and Sewerage Department & the Director of the Agriculture and Fisheries Department, our valued partners in this project.
What is a Site Visit and Bidders’ Conference?
This is an important step in the procurement process where potential bidders visit project sites to gain firsthand insight into the locations and participate in discussions to clarify technical requirements and expectations for the project.
Why is it important?
- It provides critical information for preparing accurate and competitive proposals.
- It ensures a shared understanding of the project’s goals and requirements.
- It fosters collaboration and transparency in the procurement process.
This project represents another significant step toward empowering our local farmers and advancing sustainable development across the Virgin Islands.
As part of the RDA’s portfolio of active projects for 2025, it underscores our commitment to fostering sustainability and supporting the local agricultural sector. Stay tuned for more updates, and visit our website, BVIRecovery.vg, to learn more about ongoing recovery initiatives.
