Three tenders were received from prequalified Virgin Islands based construction companies for the construction of a new Joint Marine Shore Base Building.
Autland Heavy Equipment Co. Ltd, Metro Construction Ltd. and James Todman Construction, the three shortlisted/prequalified companies, submitted their tenders which included a technical and financial proposal for the construction of the Joint Marine Shore Base Building.
The Marine Shore Base Building sustained significant damage during the hurricanes of 2017 and is currently inoperable. The facility is critical to the Virgin Islands Security as it functions as a base to fight against illegal immigration, illegal importation, and narcotics smuggling.
The Scope of Works required for this project includes the demolition of the existing building – with the exception of the cisterns, the construction of a new two-story reinforced concrete building measuring 5,656 sq. ft, and auxiliary works to include the sewer treatment system, boat rack platform, and civil works, in accordance with detailed design drawings, specifications and a Bill of Quantities.
The tenders will now be evaluated, and the winning tender announced upon the completion of the Tender Evaluation Process.
