In April 2022, work continued across ongoing RDA-implemented projects. Specifically in April, work continued in earnest on the Redevelopment of the Elmore Stoutt High School, with steelwork and concrete casting for the building foundations completed. Thus far this project is on schedule to be completed by September of this year. Also in April 2022, solar panels were installed at both the Enis Adams and Francis Lettsome Primary Schools, and Town and Country Planning and BVI Electricity Corporation inspections are now awaited for the full commissioning of these solar facilities. The car park at the Jeffrey Caines Sports Arena has now been completed, and final finishing touches on this facility as well as the Road Town Police Station and Estate House #1/AG’s Residence are being completed.
In terms of CDB-RRL funded projects, in April 2022, extensive work on drainage and sidewalks at the Fish Bay road rehabilitation site continued. Pipe relocation on behalf of the Water and Sewerage Department is required prior to redevelopment of the road surface. This activity is the eighth and final road activity to be completed by the RDA, funded by the CDB-RRL. In terms of progress on the West End Ferry Terminal, both the required Climate Risk and Vulnerability Assessment (CRVA) and the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) which will feed into the detailed design of the West End Ferry Terminal have been completed. Planning continues for the Magistrate’s Court and Eslyn Henley Richez Learning Centre projects, following which these will proceed to procurement.
