In April 2024, the Virgin Islands Law Enforcement Marine Base project had its official opening ceremony A list of defects was submitted to the contractor with most being subsequently resolved. For other projects, such as the Virgin Islands Agriculture and Fisheries Complex, a Request for Expressions of Interest (REOI) was issued for a design consultant, with a tender deadline of April 8, 2024. The Farmers Reservoir (Paraquita Bay) progressed through procurement phase with the closure of tender activity for the Design Consultant services (RFP) and commencement of evaluations. Efforts continued during the month of April, to complete minor outstanding issues towards full closure of the Jost Van Dyke Multipurpose Educational Facility project while at the Eslyn Henly Richiez Learning Centre, construction works continued on the superstructure. For the West End Ferry Terminal project, the CDB continued reviewing documentation for the West End Ferry Terminal project to provide the required ‘No Objection’ for continuation and issuance of the tender package to prequalified contractors. Discussions continued between Tortola Pier Park and an internet provider to dedicate an internet connection to the installed and commissioned renewable energy system at the Park for the Renewable Energy Installations project. In April 2024, the Trellis Bay Welcome Centre project experienced continued progression through the procurement phase with the evaluation of tenders. As for the Halls of Justice project, the consultant continued developing the final design for the Halls of Justice project, with a new delivery date set for May 13, 2024. Thereafter, the consultant is expected to proceed with the project design and development of a Request for Proposals (RFP) to shortlist potential contractors. Community engagement is scheduled to be planned simultaneously while drawings are in progress. Also in April 2024, stakeholder engagement continued for the National Cultural Centre, Archives, Library and Museum. These included on-site visits and regular communication on updates, aimed at ensuring speedy resolution of issues and that stakeholders are consistently apprised of project progress. For the Water Optimisation Project, stakeholder engagement and the procurement process continued. The tender deadline for supply and installation of water meters was extended to May 24, 2024.
