In August 2023, a contract signing and groundbreaking ceremony was held for construction of the Eslyn Henley Richiez Learning Centre, funded by the CDB Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Loan (RRL), facilitating mobilization and demolishing on the site near the Enid Scatliffe Pre-Primary School. Also in August 2023, works on the Jost Van Dyke (JVD) Multipurpose Educational Facility continued, involving near completion of exterior and interior painting, installation of guard railings, and tiling of the bathrooms and kitchen. Internal finishings are ongoing, with the project now scheduled to be completed and delivered in October 2023. Works continued on the Joint Marine Shore Base in August, and plastering of the building has been largely completed. MEP works have continued and installation of received windows and doors is currently underway. This project is scheduled to be completed in early 2024. The deadline for prequalification submissions for construction of the West End Ferry Terminal closed at the end of August, and the nine (9) submissions received are currently being evaluated. Architectural drawings for the Terminal are being reviewed by the Town and Country Planning Department. Planning efforts have continued on projects recently assigned to the RDA, including the Trellis Bay Welcome Centre, the Agriculture and Fisheries Complex and Farmers Reservoir, the National Cultural Centre, Archives, Library and Museum (Heritage Village), and the Multipurpose Training and Detention Centre. Based on the current program, the RDA has successfully completed 41 or 51% of the 81 project interventions assigned. In the coming weeks, the RDA will continuously seek to confirm the list of projects in the Recovery to Development program as well as the preliminary funding requirement as we work to deliver our mandate, within the context of the National Sustainable Development Plan (NSDP) Framework.
