In February 2023, mobilisation works for the Joint Marine Shore Base began, following contract signing and groundbreaking in January of this year. This project is jointly funded by Central Government and the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and is scheduled to be completed by the end of the first quarter of 2024. Works have continued on the Jost Van Dyke Multipurpose Education Facility with formwork, concrete casting and blockwork continuing on the basement and ground floors. Also during February 2023, the design consultants for the West End Ferry Terminal, Inros Lackner, visited the Territory for on-site meetings with key project stakeholders. This project is expected to progress to the procurement stage following completed detailed designs and other documentation, by the third quarter of this year. Additional projects have been added to the RDA’s program, including the Agriculture and Fisheries Complex and the Farmers’ Reservoir planned for Paraquita Bay. Based on the current program, the RDA has successfully completed 38 or 49% of the 77 project interventions assigned. In the coming weeks, the RDA will seek to confirm the list of projects in the Recovery to Development program as well as the preliminary funding requirement as we continually work to deliver our mandate.
