In March 2023, the playground of the Anegada Recreation Facility reached substantial completion, following installation of artificial turf and playground equipment. Over the past months, the court has been resurfaced, perimeter fencing has been installed, and now the playground has been completed. This is the third recreational facility that the RDA has rehabilitated, following completion of the track, stands and bathroom facilities at the AO Shirley Recreation Grounds, and handover of the completed A. Jeffrey Caines Sports Arena.

This project is scheduled to be completed by September of this year, in time for the opening of the new school year. Works commenced on the Joint Marine Shore Base, following mobilisation in February. This project is jointly funded by Central Government and the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and is scheduled to be completed by the end of the first quarter of 2024. Based on the current program, the RDA has successfully completed 40, or 51% of the 79 project interventions assigned. In the coming weeks, the RDA will seek to confirm the list of projects in the Recovery to Development program as well as the preliminary funding requirement as we continually work to deliver our mandate.
