Brief Overview of Project Updates – January 2025 Monthly Report:
- Halls of Justice: The design consultant completed making requested changes to designs and updated cost estimates in line with revisions for the Halls of Justice project.
- Road Town Development Partnership: This project remained in planning phase.
- BVI Health Services Authority Infrastructure Assessment: This project remained in planning phase.
- West End Ferry Terminal: The procurement process for the West End Ferry Terminal project continued. The consultant evaluated and approved the technical package of both bid submissions.
- Road Reconstruction Programme: The project scope for the Road Reconstruction project was reduced from nine sections of roads to five sections. These five sections include Fort Hill, Joe’s Hill, Ridge Road, Windy Hill and Pockwood Pond.
- Water Optimization: Following completion of the Leak Detection activity in December 2024, the final draft report for the activity was completed and reviewed in January 2025.
- Virgin Islands Agriculture and Fisheries Complex: The consultant shared preliminary designs with the staff of Agriculture and Fisheries to gather feedback which will be included in the final preliminary designs.
- Farmers’ Reservoir: Stakeholder engagement was the dominant activity for this project in January 2025. Particularly, a site visit and bidders’ conference were held with three firms.
- Eslyn Henley Richiez Learning Centre: Construction works for this project continued in January 2025.
- Renewable Energy Installations: Planning continued for procurement of the required EV charger for the Tortola Pier Park Power Box site.
- National Cultural Centre, Archives, Library and Museum: This project remained in planning phase, and it is on hold pending further direction from the client Ministries.
- Waste Management Solutions: This project remained in planning phase, and it is on hold pending further direction from the client Ministries.
- Immigration Detention Centre: Stakeholder engagement was the dominant activity for this project which remained in planning phase. Specifically, a meeting was held with the Ministry of Financial Services, Economic Development and Digital Transformation, the new Ministry with responsibility for the project.
- JVD Pond Restoration: The feasibility assessment was conducted by an engineer and hydrologist. Findings were shared for review and a draft feasibility study report completed to meet the final submission deadline of 1st February 2025.
- AO Shirley Recreation Grounds: Ongoing efforts continued to bring outstanding project activities to a close. This involved a stakeholder meeting held on 21st January 2025 to provide project status updates and discuss matters related to the installation of light poles and light fixtures.
