In July 2024, CDB provided ‘No Objection’ for the West End Ferry Terminal. The ‘No Objection’ is required for continuation and issuance of the tender package for the West End Ferry Terminal project. In other projects, such as the Trellis Bay Welcome Centre, construction activities commenced in July 2024 and steadily progressed with foundation work and assembling of steel reinforcement. For the Water Optimisation project, contract for consultancy on the provision of Leak Detection Services was signed for developing the capacity of local contractors and the Water and Sewage Department, as well as to improve leak detection and curtail non-revenue water. The procurement process for the Supply and Installation of Water Meters (another activity under the Water Optimisation project) continued in July 2024. As for the Virgin Islands Agriculture and Fisheries Complex, the project continued to progress through the procurement phase whilst for the Farmers’ Reservoir project, there was the contract signing for design and construction management of the project. Additionally, stakeholder engagement for both projects continued in July 2024. At the Eslyn Henley Richiez Learning Centre, construction works continued as well as the procurement of long lead items. Internet connection remained outstanding for the installed and commissioned renewable energy system at Pier Park for the Renewable Energy Installations project. For the Halls of Justice project, after completion of final designs in May 2024, for July 2024, stakeholder engagement continued. In addition, a value engineering exercise is being conducted on the completed designs. Stakeholder engagement also continued for the National Cultural Centre, Archives, Library and Museum. These included on-site visits and regular communication on updates aimed at ensuring speedy resolution of issues and that stakeholders are consistently apprised of project progress. Similarly, the planning process for the Immigration Detention Centre continued with stakeholder engagement involving the revision of project scope of works and deliverables. With the Statement of Requirement (SoR) for the BVI Health Services Authority Infrastructure Assessment signed in May 2024, the planning process for this project continued with stakeholder engagement in July 2024.
