In June 2023, a site visit to review project progress was successfully held with the Minister of Education and senior officials from the Ministry at the Jost Van Dyke (JVD) Multipurpose Educational Facility. Works continued on this project in June, including plastering of walls and construction of the timber roof structure for the courtyard. The JVD Multipurpose Educational Facility is scheduled to be completed in time for start of the new school year in September 2023. Works continued on the Joint Marine Shore Base in June, with concrete poured for the second-floor slab, and columns, lintels and windows- and doors-framing on the second floor completed. A successful site visit with project updates was held in June for key Government personnel, providing an upfront view of project progress. Also in June, nine (9) contractors applied for prequalification for construction of the West End Ferry Terminal, and initial designs were submitted to the Town and Country Planning Department for preliminary review. Planning efforts continued on projects recently assigned to the RDA, including the Trellis Bay Welcome Centre, the Agriculture and Fisheries Complex and Farmers Reservoir, and the National Cultural Centre, Archives, Library and Museum (Heritage Village). Based on the current program, the RDA has successfully completed 41 or 52% of the 79 project interventions assigned. In the coming weeks, the RDA will seek to confirm the list of projects in the Recovery to Development program as well as the preliminary funding requirement as we continually work to deliver our mandate.
