In June 2024, the contract signing for the Trellis Bay Welcome Centre project signaled completion of the procurement process for that project. For other projects, such as the Virgin Islands Agriculture and Fisheries Complex project progression through the procurement phase continued with completion of design consultancy evaluations. Stakeholder engagement for this project, as well as for the Farmers’ Reservoir project continued in June 2024. Additionally, efforts persistent to complete outstanding issues towards full closure of the Jost Van Dyke Primary School: A Multipurpose Educational Facility project.
At the Eslyn Henly Richiez Learning Centre, construction works continued, especially casting of the roof slab. For the West End Ferry Terminal project, the CDB continued reviewing documentation for the West End Ferry Terminal project to provide the required ‘No Objection’ for continuation and issuance of the tender package to prequalified contractors. Internet connection remained outstanding for the installed and commissioned renewable energy system at Pier Park for the Renewable Energy Installations project. As for the Halls of Justice project, after completion of final designs in May 2024, for June 2024, meeting with key government stakeholders to discuss matters regarding project scope was the prominent activity for this project.
Also in June 2024, stakeholder engagement continued for the National Cultural Centre, Archives, Library and Museum. These included on-site visits and regular communication on updates aimed at ensuring speedy resolution of issues and that stakeholders are consistently apprised of project progress. Similarly, the planning process for the Immigration Detention Centre continued with stakeholder engagement involving the revision of project scope of works and deliverables. For the Water Optimisation Project, stakeholder engagement and the procurement process continued. The tender deadline for supply and installation of water meters was further extended to June 28, 2024. With the Statement of Requirement (SoR) for the BVI Health Services Authority Infrastructure Assessment signed in May 2024, the planning process for this project continued with stakeholder engagement in June 2024.
