In March 2024, the Virgin Islands Law Enforcement Marine Base project progressed to 96% completion despite delays in shipment of some specialist supplies. Permanent power and water connections were installed at the Marine Base, facilitating expected achievement of practical completion. For other projects, such as the Virgin Islands Agriculture and Fisheries Complex, a Request for Expressions of Interest (REOI) was issued for a design consultant, with a tender deadline of April 8, 2024. For the Farmers Reservoir Paraquita Bay, the procurement process for design consultant services continued with a deadline of April 19, 2024. Efforts remained underway to complete minor outstanding issues towards full closure of the Jost Van Dyke Multipurpose Educational Facility project while at the Eslyn Henly Richiez Learning Centre, construction works continued with casting of the ground floor slab and commencement of the superstructure. For the West End Ferry Terminal project, the CDB continued reviewing documentation for the West End Ferry Terminal project to provide the required ‘No Objection’ for continuation and issuance of the tender package to prequalified contractors. Discussions continued between Tortola Pier Park and an internet provider to dedicate an internet connection to the installed and commissioned renewable energy system at the Park for the Renewable Energy Installations project. In March 2024, the Trellis Bay Welcome Centre project progressed through the procurement phase with issuance of the Request for Proposals (RFP) to market, followed by a bidders’ conference shortly thereafter. As for the Halls of Justice project, the consultant continued developing the final design for the Halls of Justice project. The final project design is expected to be completed by April 15, 2024. Thereafter, the consultant is expected to proceed with the project design and development of a Request for Proposals (RFP) to shortlist potential contractors. Community engagement is scheduled to be planned simultaneously while drawings are in progress. Also in March 2024, stakeholder engagement continued for the National Cultural Centre, Archives, Library and Museum. These included on-site visits and regular communication on updates, aimed at ensuring speedy resolution of issues and that stakeholders are consistently apprised of project progress. For the Water Optimisation Project, stakeholder engagement and the procurement process continued with the tender for supply and installation of water meters issued to market, and clarification requests on both Leak Detection and Supply and Installation of water meters tender documentation addressed.
