In May 2022, work continued across ongoing RDA-implemented projects. Specifically in May, work continued in earnest on the Redevelopment of the Elmore Stoutt High School, with block wall construction for the first floors of the classroom blocks completed, and work having begun on the second floors. The foundation for the administration building was also completed in May, and block work construction commenced. This project aims for completion by September of this year. Also in May 2022, the installed solar panels at Enis Adams and Francis Lettsome Primary Schools received approval from BVIEC and will be fully commissioned following completed inspections. Final touches on the Virgin Gorda Sports Complex, Road Town Police Station and Estate House #1/AG’s Residence were completed in May following practical completion, and these projects now await formal handover.
The main building of the Marine Base has now proceeded to procurement, and construction is expected to begin in August 2022 following tender submission, evaluation and contract award. In terms of CDB-RRL funded projects, in May 2022, road rehabilitation works on the Fish Bay road continued, with concrete casting of the road. The pipe relocation process on behalf of the Water and Sewerage Department has also begun. This activity is the eighth and final road activity to be completed by the RDA, funded by the CDB-RRL, and is now expected to be completed by the end of July 2022. A final decision is awaited for the external design of the West End Ferry Terminal which will feed into the detailed design that proceeds to procurement. Similarly, planning continues for the Magistrate’s Court and Eslyn Henley Richez projects, following which these will proceed to procurement.
