In May 2024, the Virgin Islands Agriculture and Fisheries Complex continued to progress through the procurement phase with evaluators assessing scores from the tender process for the design consultant. The Farmers’ Reservoir (Paraquita Bay) similarly progressed through the procurement phase with approval of contract award to the winning bidder for design consultant services. Additionally, stakeholder engagement continued for these two projects, including meeting with key stakeholders to discuss technical matters surrounding water distribution and availability to ensure the project’s targeted outcomes are ultimately achieved. Efforts continued during the month of May to complete minor outstanding issues towards full closure of the Jost Van Dyke Multipurpose Educational Facility project. At the Eslyn Henly Richiez Learning Centre, construction works continued on the superstructure, as well as preparation for the casting of the roof slab. For the West End Ferry Terminal project, the CDB continued reviewing documentation for the West End Ferry Terminal project to provide the required ‘No Objection’ for issuance of the tender package to prequalified contractors. Discussions continued between Tortola Pier Park and an internet provider to dedicate an internet connection to the installed and commissioned renewable energy system at the Pier Park for the Renewable Energy Installations project. In May 2024, the Trellis Bay Welcome Centre project experienced continued progression through the procurement phase with the process of selecting a contractor from the eight tenders received in March 2024. As for the Halls of Justice project, the consultant completed development of the final designs, with review of the completed designs expected over the next four (4) weeks, as well as development of the Request for Proposals (RFP) to shortlist potential contractors. Also in May 2024, stakeholder engagement continued for the National Cultural Centre, Archives, Library and Museum project. These included on-site visits and regular communication on updates, aimed at ensuring speedy resolution of issues and that stakeholders are consistently apprised of project progress. For the Water Optimisation Project, stakeholder engagement including site visits and regular communication regarding project updates was conducted. The invitation to tender for Supply and Installation of Water Meters for Reservoirs across the Territory, a related project activity, has been extended to June 21, 2024.
