In November 2022, works on Fish Bay asphalting were completed, including the final installation of speedbumps and road markings. This project was the last of a total of eight road projects implemented on Tortola under the CDB-funded Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Loan. These projects have stabilised slopes and improved road safety at previously undermined and flood-prone areas.
Final finishing works continued on the ESHS Redevelopment project which will be completed and handed over before the end of 2022. Also in November, tender evaluations for the Joint Marine Base were completed, and a recommendation was made for contract award. Works continued on the Jost Van Dyke Primary School Redevelopment including formwork, concrete casting and block work for the ground floor. This project is scheduled to be completed in time for the start of the 2023 school year (September 2023).
In November, correspondence from Central Government indicated that funding previously for the Halls of Justice project will now be reallocated to the West End Ferry Terminal project, for which detailed designs for the classic modern façade are currently being prepared.
