In November 2023, construction works continued for the JVD Primary School and Joint Marine Shore Base. Other projects such as the West End Ferry Terminal, Agriculture and Fisheries Complex & Farmers’ Reservoir, and the Trellis Bay Welcome Center continued in planning phase. Specifically, for the JVD Primary School, this mainly involved electrical works such as installation of the main electrical distribution system, electrical outlet and switch covers, exit lights and signs. The project is now scheduled to reach substantial completion by the end of December 2023, facilitating anticipated official handover and opening for the school’s Lent term in January 2024. For the Joint Marine Shore Base, installation of windows, drywall partitions, wall tiles and access ramp extension were completed in November. This project is scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of 2024. In November 2023, the Town and Country Planning Department (TCP) provided conditional approval for the West End Ferry Terminal project’s detailed designs. The Bill of Quantities prepared by the design consultants was also received and reviewed. Following receipt of the CDB’s No Objection on the prepared tender documentation, bidding for construction of the terminal is expected to open in early 2024. For the Trellis Bay Welcome Centre, required revisions to the initial designs received from Public Works were incorporated, based on feedback from TCP. The project is expected to proceed to procurement by early 2024, given finalization of the scope of works and full TCP approvals. As it relates to the Agriculture and Fisheries Complex & Farmers’ Reservoir, following evaluation of bids for the required geotechnical survey work, a successful bidder was selected in November 2023. Contract award and signature is expected to take place in December 2023.
