In October 2023, a community meeting was held for the Construction of Eslyn Henley Richiez Learning Centre, following the construction contract signing in late August and the completion of demolition works in September. The community meeting was held to display project designs and inform the public of expected construction times and requirements. This project is scheduled to be completed by March 2025. Works continued on the Joint Marine Shore Base building in October, with the installation of windows, drywall partitions, wall tiles, and the wastewater treatment system completed. This project is scheduled to be completed by the early first quarter of 2024. Works continued on Jost Van Dyke Primary School Multipurpose Educational Facility, with exterior and interior painting completed, and ongoing works for internal fittings and MEP, including sealing of floors, installation of external lights, and completion of ICT installations. The project is now scheduled to reach substantial completion, facilitating the new school term opening in January 2024.
Nine submissions were received during the second prequalification round for the West End Ferry Terminal Project resulting in four submissions meeting the requirements after the evaluation. Planning work on the Agriculture and Fisheries Complex and Farmers’ Reservoir continued in October 2023. Bids for the surveys were received and evaluated. Contract award for the geotechnical survey is expected to take place in November, facilitating the development of detailed project designs for the Complex and the Reservoir. Planning continued for the Trellis Bay Welcome Centre project involving the reconstruction of an upgraded Welcome Centre near the docks at Trellis Bay to facilitate a comfortable space for persons traveling to other islands. Once the scope of works and full TCP approvals have been finalised, the project will proceed to procurement. Planning efforts have also continued on the National Cultural Centre, Archives, Library and Museum (Heritage Village), and the Multipurpose Training and Detention Centre.
In the coming weeks, the RDA will continuously seek to confirm the list of projects in the Recovery to Development program as well as the preliminary funding requirement as we work to deliver our mandate, within the context of the National Sustainable Development Plan (NSDP) Framework.
