Three Options, One Choice. West End Ferry Terminal Design You spoke. We listened, and we are ready to hear from you again. We are happy with the feedback we received on West End Ferry Terminal Project during our public consultations in February 2022. The primary concern focused on the aesthetics of the building. Now we wish to hear from a wider cross-section of the Virgin Islands community and get feedback from as many voices as possible in the process. Select your choice from the three façade options: Futuristic, Modern, or West Indian. The internal layout of the building has received feedback from key stakeholders and the majority to all of their requirements have been met. Modern façade, which allows integration of innovative hurricane prevention and flood protection measures2. Maximized solar panel areas on the roof and the façade for energy harvesting and roof shading.3. Sophisticated and flexible façade solution - open and closed - for two types of weather: During nice weather the façade is open to welcome arriving and waiting guests. During bad weather and hurricanes, the hurricane shutters will be closed and protect the building. 4. Double layered façade which provides shadow during high radiation impact.5. Mainly conventional construction materials and methods are used such as reinforced concrete beams, columns, slabs for the superstructure.6. Space for solar panels: 2300 m² 1. Functional and efficient façade layout with conventional solutions.2. Solar panels could be installed on the roof. 3. The façade is double layered and provides shadow for the glazing behind.4.
