The Department of Agriculture and Fisheries is set to expand its facilities in the Paraquita Bay area to include administrative offices, an abattoir, and processing facilities for both meat and fish. The new complex will provide additional space for the administrative and technical teams responsible for developing and enforcing best practices in the agriculture and fishing sectors. It will also be equipped to collect pathological data and monitor pathogens, drug residues, chemical contaminants, and antimicrobial resistance. Additional services such as preservation, packaging, and marketing will also be accommodated.
