Brief Overview of Project Updates – February 2025 Monthly Report:
- Halls of Justice: The project awaited confirmation of funding following client approval of the revised drawings.
- Road Town Improvement: Stakeholder engagement was the dominant activity for this project in February 2025. This involved a field visit with technical teams from the Water and Sewerage, Public Works and Town and Country Planning Departments, as well as the Ministry of Communication and Works.
- BVI Health Services Authority Infrastructure Assessment: This project was cancelled. The results of assessments for buildings and equipment will be integrated into delivery of the new BVI Health Services Authority Infrastructure Improvements project.
- West End Ferry Terminal: The procurement process for the West End Ferry Terminal project continued with opening of the financial aspects of the two submitted bids. With the bids coming in significantly above budgeted expectations, the project is now undergoing strategic reassessment of requirements and priorities.
- Road Reconstruction Programme: The project scope for the Road Reconstruction project was reduced from five sections of roads to four sections. These four sections include Fort Hill, Joe’s Hill, Ridge Road, and Windy Hill.
- Water Optimization: A project status meeting was held with the client in February 2025 to discuss the final report for the Leak Detection activity. Also, in February 2025, 24 of 25 meters were delivered for the Supply and Installation of Reservoir Water Meters project activity.
- Virgin Islands Agriculture and Fisheries Complex: Stakeholder engagement sessions were held with farmers, members of the fisherfolk community and the client. In these sessions, the project design was shared and feedback solicited from end-users.
- Farmers’ Reservoir: The User Requirement Document (URD) for the Farmers’ Reservoir was submitted to the client for approval.
- Eslyn Henley Richiez Learning Centre: Construction works for this project continued in February 2025.
- Renewable Energy Installations: Planning continued for procurement of the required EV charger for the Tortola Pier Park Power Box site.
- National Cultural Centre, Archives, Library and Museum: This project remained on hold pending further direction from the client Ministries.
- Waste Management Solutions: This project remained on hold pending further direction from the client Ministries.
- Immigration Detention Centre: The RDA issued the Request for Proposals (RFP) for design and construction supervision of the Immigration Detention Centre. A meeting was also held with the Ministry of Financial Services, Economic Development and Digital Transformation.
- JVD Pond Restoration: The feasibility assessment was conducted by an engineer and hydrologist. Findings were shared for review and a draft feasibility study report completed to meet the final submission deadline of 1st February 2025.
- AO Shirley Recreation Grounds: Ongoing efforts continued to bring outstanding project activities to a close. In February 2025, this involved the Invitation to Tender (ITT) for the AO Shirley Lighting activity, with the deadline for submissions slated for March 2025.
