Project Update Highlights – May 2025 Monthly Report:
- Eslyn Henley Richiez Learning Centre: Works on this project continued, including closing the steel frame section of the building and painting internal walls. Practical completion of this project is scheduled for end of June 2025.
- Water Optimization: In May 2025, work commenced to install twenty-five meters at various reservoir sites across the Territory. These meters will improve tracking of water usage and facilitate early leak detection.
- BVI Health Services Authority Infrastructure Improvements: The RDA awarded a contract for structural assessment of the roof repairs project activity, and works commenced on the oxygen generator building, scheduled to be completed in August 2025.
- Road Town Development Partnership: The inaugural meeting of the Road Town Partnership committee was held in May 2025. The committee will further direct the project activities to be undertaken under the Partnership project. In May 2025, further planning for the initial walkway, sidewalks and roundabout activities continued.
- Road Reconstruction Programme: Evaluation of the four (4) bid proposals received for design and construction management of the Road Reconstruction project programme was completed in May 2025, and a company has been recommended for contract award.
- Farmers’ Reservoir: On 13th May 2025, a contract was signed with Alvair Limited for Engineering Designs and Construction Management of Water Mains and Civil Works on the Farmers’ Reservoir project. This project is scheduled to be completed by October 2026.
- Immigration Detention Centre: Following evaluation of five proposals received for design and construction management of the Immigration Detention Centre, in May 2025, a firm was recommended for contract award. The contract for design and construction management of the Immigration Detention Centre is expected to be signed in early June 2025.
- AO Shirley Recreation Grounds: In May 2025, evaluation of the four (4) bid submissions received for lighting installation continued. A recommendation for contract award will be made and a contract signed for installation of lighting at the Recreation Grounds in the coming weeks.
