Project Update Highlights – June 2025 Monthly Report:
- Eslyn Henley Richiez Learning Centre: Internal works continued, including Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) installations and finishing works. The school is scheduled to open in early September 2025, as such practical completion is anticipated within the coming weeks.
- Water Optimisation: In June 2025, work continued in installing reservoir meters across the Territory. Additional meters are required to cover all required inflows and outflows at the selected reservoir sites, which has necessitated a variation in the project scope. These meters will improve tracking of water usage and facilitate early leak detection.
- BVI Health Services Authority Infrastructure Improvements: The RDA signed a contract with ManageTect for structural assessment of the roof repairs project activity, and works continued on the oxygen generator building, which is scheduled to be completed in August 2025.
- Road Town Development Partnership: The Road Town Partnership Committee has made plans for a public consultation on the development of Road Town, to take place in early July. This consultation envisions presenting schematics for the Road Town area to the public for feedback to the committee. The committee will further direct the project activities to be undertaken under the Partnership project. In June 2025, further planning for the initial walkway, sidewalks and roundabout activities continued.
- Farmers’ Reservoir: Following contract signature with Alvair Limited in May 2025, in June 2025 work continued on the engineering designs for the water mains and civil works on the Farmers’ Reservoir project. This has involved data gathering and technical discussions with the Ministry and the Water and Sewerage Department. The designs for the reservoir foundation will complement the designs for the water mains and civil works currently being prepared. This project is scheduled to be completed by October 2026.
- Immigration Detention Centre: In June 2025, a contract was signed with Trojan Design and Development Ltd for design and construction management of the Immigration Detention Centre. A kick-off meeting for the design process was also held in June. The completed User Requirement Document (URD) will inform the detailed designs to be prepared by the design consultant.
- AO Shirley Recreation Grounds: Following evaluation of the four (4) bid submissions received for lighting installation, in June 2025, the RDA Board approved contract award for this activity. The contract for installation of lighting at AO Shirley Recreation Grounds is expected to be signed in the coming weeks.
